HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama says he
won't just be a president for the American people, but the
animals too.
Obama responded that he cares about animal rights very
much, "not only because I have a 9-year-old and 6-year-
old who want a dog." He said he sponsored a bill to
prevent horse slaughter in the Illinois state Senate and
has been repeatedly endorsed by the Humane Society.
Hillary Clinton Pledges Her Support to The
Rights Of Animals...
According to /madmikesamerica.blogspot.com, in her
questionnaire response, Clinton indicates her support for
every major animal protection bill in Congress, and says
she will work with executive agencies to implement
humane policies and adequate funding and enforcement
for animal welfare laws. “I believe animal welfare is an
important issue to Americans, and I would work to
address these problems when I am President, as I have
during my time in the Senate,” she wrote. “From
preventing dog fighting to preventing horse slaughter to
addressing global warming, I will work to ensure that
these issues get the attention and support they deserve.”
